Niche Affiliate Marketing - A Great Way to Start

by Ginger Coleen

When you finally make the decision to make a living online, you’re going to be bombarded with all sorts of verbiage with respect to different types of marketing. One of the most lucrative of those terms is niche affiliate marketing.

Niche affiliate marketing is my favorite way to profit online and one of the quickest and easiest ways to do so. Let’s break it down just a little.

If you don’t already know what affiliate marketing is, well just type that term into any search engine and you’ll get plenty to choose from. Affiliate marketing is simply selling someone else’s product and getting paid a commission for each sale. Some affiliate programs pay a small fee for each click to their website from your link or banner.

Niche affiliate marketing is simply targeting a specific affiliate niche or target market. In other words, you might be interested in sports, but that’s a really large niche. You would be better to look for a niche market a bit more specific like tennis or golf.

When choosing a market, you need to make sure it isn’t too small or too big . If you get into a very small niche, you might find there isn’t much to market. For example, if your niche were golf clubs, rather than golf in general, you might be limiting your topics and product choices.

It might be better to choose the entire golf niche. That way you can sell information about golf resorts, golf balls, golf shoes, and even target specific golfer products — like Tiger Woods products. By the way, it is, in fact, a very popular niche to be in but be careful, there is also a lot of competition.

When the Internet was new and we were just learning to market online, each one of us had to create everything from scratch. We had to figure out what the best keywords were, how to use them and then design and build a website, create the graphics, and find the traffic. Geez, traffic is a whole major niche of its own and I don’t mean the freeway kind!

A lot of things have changed since I started online. Today, you can buy packages for niche affiliate marketing that contain prewritten niche websites with everything included. All you need to do is FTP them up to a web host and market them.

Some of these packages contain prewritten articles and bonus packages to entice your prospects into signing up for a list and purchasing your products. A word of caution though, be careful when choosing these packages.

The amazing thing to me is that you really don’t have to pay a lot for these niche affiliate marketing packages and some of them even include training to teach you how to promote them. Well, think about it — the marketer who created the package stands to grow from your efforts when you promote the package, so the training is in his or her best interest.

I recommend that when you’re starting out, it will save you a lot of time to find a package that includes training. Some have high price tags but that doesn’t ensure you’re getting a great product.

There’s a lot more competition today than there used to be and that has pushed the prices lower while still retaining a lot of quality.

So, find a really good product that includes a website you can put up quickly and good training to show you how to drive traffic to the site. Then, if you like, you can build a small niche affiliate marketing empire around it.

Just do it once and repeat many times. And, over time, your profits will grow and grow. You get the picture!

Unique Content - The key To Article Marketing

by Mark Thompson

Unless you’re completely brand new to doing business on the internet, you’ll have heard about article marketing. Article marketing is how a regular person like you or me can gain a foothold into niche markets and target interested and motivated visitors and turn them into interested and motivated buyers.

Without a doubt article marketing is the most powerful way in which one can promote a website. Done properly article marketing is the effective way for getting targeted traffic to your site as well as helping to build backlinks. A short but informative article in order to promote a site may seem to take a lot of effort, but the returns you get are quite phenomenal. So just how does article marketing work for an online business?

For a start it cost little or not to write an article and then submit it to various article directories or even to other websites. Then in turn a directory or website will publish the article you have written on them. The affect is that the rankings for your site on search engines will begin to rise because of all the backlinks which have been created because other sites are now using your content.

Article marketing is extremely viral. As you will find it only takes one well written article using the appropriate targeting keywords will allow you to generate numerous links back to your site or to some other designated landing page.

Through your article marketing you as a new website owner or author can develop a reputation in your niche market of being an authority on it. A person who comes across one your articles in an article directory and remains interested so that they click on the link provided and visit your site, provides you now with the opportunity to build a more lasting relationship with that person. The next step then is to cultivate that relationship further by offering them more relevant content which will address certain questions or problems that they may have.

Sometimes you may hear from others that article marketing is not longer effective or that by submitting your article to numerous article directories only results in duplicate content, and which may put your site at risk of being de-indexed by search engines.

However let us put aside the arguments in relation to duplicate just for now. Article marketing is still every bit as effective as other traffic or promotional tools being touted today. Different strategies for promoting business are coming and going all the time, however with article marketing it strength lies in the fact that the World Wide Web relies on it. There is a constant need for fresh and relevant content to be available for people to read and use.

By creating content in the form of articles you will start to attract a steady stream of visitors to your site. Everyday millions of people go online looking for answers. With your articles you can place yourself in a strong position to provide the answers to their questions and convert the traffic into sales.

Article marketing is the one free or nearly free strategy to promote a product or website that anyone can do. It is an excellent way to bring in targeted traffic if you are willing to work at it consistently and for the long-term.

By writing informative articles using well-researched keywords in whatever niche you select, you can gain more exposure and higher search engine rankings. But, just submitting the same article over and over to hundreds of article repositories and niche websites can dilute the effectiveness of your article marketing efforts.

The real key to article marketing success is to submit unique versions of your articles to the different directories and websites. Daunting as this may sound the results are truly extraordinary and well worth the effort. Gone are the risks of duplicate content and slippage of ranking. While the definition of what constitutes duplicate content continues to be the subject of hot debate, many experienced webmasters are comfortable with ranges above 30%.

However, the more different there is between each version of an article you submit then the better. It is important that you keep in mind that all the top search engines spiders will take numerous elements of each page into consideration as well as the whole webpage when reviewing it. So just by making 30% of small changes to your articles will be more than enough to prevent it from being completely skipped over.

The smartest way when it comes to article marketing is to ensure that you submit unique versions of your articles. Not only will you gain more targeted traffic, but the increase in the rankings tends to last for much longer because of the backlinks you have built through the marketing of unique articles.
